"Masks used are of Igbo (left} and Venetian (right) origins. The Igbo mask used is also a maiden mask, but masks like this with a secondary figure behind the main mask is used to represent older women. I chose this mask to represent my friend and subject “ARIANA’ whose composure and quietness I perceived as quite more mature than that of her peer MARIANA whom I used the Venetian mask to represent."
