Ignoto draws on the artist’s childhood memories of visiting Sufi shrines in Kelaa Des Sraghna, Morocco, with her family. Inspired by the dark fabrics, delicate patterns and decorated doors of these sacred sites, the work explores the symbolic act of opening and closing. Two black sheets, hand-cut with distinct patterns, slide toward one another and, when joined, form a new symmetrical door with a more intricate and layered design. The work combines memory, spirituality and cultural identity through an interactive, double-sided composition in which difference becomes a source of unity and transformation.
