Throughout October, Mohammed El Hajoui has taken over a room at AKKA Project in Venice, transforming it into a space for artistic research, experimentation, and creation.
Over the course of the month, the room has gradually taken shape around his practice, reflecting an ongoing exploration of cultural memory, transformation, and the relationship between past and present. Rather than presenting a predetermined exhibition, the AKKA Room Takeover gives the artist the freedom to develop his ideas and work within the space, allowing visitors to encounter the process as it unfolds.
On 31 October, we invite you to join us at AKKA Project for the closing event, with Mohammed El Hajoui present. It will be an opportunity to experience the room at the end of his takeover, discover the work developed during his time in Venice, and meet the artist to discuss his practice and research.
The event marks the conclusion of the first edition of AKKA Room Takeover, a project that places the artist and the creative process at the centre of the experience.
