Option Dzikamai Nyahunzvi selected for the Tyburn Foundation Affiliated Fellowship at Civitella Ranieri

We are delighted to share that Option Dzikamai Nyahunzvi (b.1992, Zimbabwe) has been selected for the 2026 Tyburn Foundation Affiliated Fellowship, taking place at Civitella Ranieri - a renowned international multidisciplinary residency located in a 15th-century castle in Umbria, Italy.

This fully-funded six-week fellowship is part of the Tyburn Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing the global recognition of contemporary African art. Offered in partnership with Civitella Ranieri, the programme supports early and mid-career visual artists from across the African continent, providing them with time, space, and community to explore and expand their practice in a context of deep creative exchange.

Known for his introspective, spiritually infused portraits and vibrant use of colour and pattern, Nyahunzvi will join a select cohort of international fellows in 2026, immersing himself in a period of focused research and creation. During the residency, he will also present his work through public talks and live-streamed events, contributing to the dynamic artistic dialogue that defines the Civitella experience.
We warmly congratulate Option on this important milestone and look forward to witnessing the new perspectives and possibilities that will emerge from his time in Umbria.

See you soon in Italy Option!!
