Dawit Abebe, The Residency Outcome: Opening Night at AKKA Project Venice

We are pleased to announce the opening of Dawit Abebe’s solo exhibition on June 18th 2026 at AKKA Project Venice, marking the outcome of his residency in Venice.

The exhibition presents the body of work developed during his stay, conceived as an open studio process where research and production unfolded continuously in dialogue with the city.

At its core, the project represents an evolution of BLACKBOX, expanding its inquiry into the body as an open system of traces, memory, and perception, shaped through fragmentation rather than resolution. The result is a process-based presentation in which making remains visible, and the work unfolds as an ongoing field rather than a closed form.
