VIP Opening & Cocktail Reception: Dangerous Desires, Group Show

AKKA Project is delighted to invite you to the VIP Opening & Cocktail Reception of Dangerous Desires, a group exhibition marking the 300th anniversary of Giacomo Casanova’s birth. 

Far from a celebration of Venice’s most infamous libertine, Dangerous Desires is a provocation. Through the radical and diverse voices of contemporary African artists, the exhibition repositions Casanova as a metaphorical figure to question desire, power, identity, and autonomy in today’s world.

The show creates a dialogue between past and present, Europe and Africa, mythology and reality, reframing the myth not as nostalgia, but as reclamation.
