The third edition of  “Africa & the other 54 countries” the series wants to celebrate separately each African country for its diversity and singularity through their arts and culture.

South Africa, so called the Rainbow nation due to its cultural and ethnic diversity.

Is a country with a contemporary art scene as diverse and vibrant as the cultures within.

The opening event will take place on January 24th from 4 to 9pm, taking part of the annual Quoz Arts Fest involving the neighborhood and promoted by Alserkal Avenue.

South Africa means also Braai! Chef Swana from KIZA – a Dubai based restaurant, specialized in pan African cuisine – will prepare Braai on this occasion.

While our partner Lightfoot travel – specialized in tailor-made luxury holidays – will tell us everything we need to know about traveling and exploring the country.

Join us and share the vibrant energy of this amazing county: South Africa.

South Africa is the southernmost country on the African continent, renowned for its varied topography, great natural beauty, and cultural diversity, all of which have made the country a favoured destination for travelers.

Due to the variety of artist backgrounds  the country witnessed a great diversity in art – ranging from landscape painting to abstract art. Engagement with European and American currents get along with a fiercely local sense of traditions and belonging.

One example of the diverse essences of South Africa is the worldwide recognized artist William Kentridge. He is a versatile artist whose work combines political and poetic. His works cover topics such as apartheid, colonialism and totalitarianism, accompanied by dreamlike parts, lyrical nuances or comic pieces.

South Africa is also the location of the Zeitz MOCAA museum, a public not-for-profit contemporary art museum that collects, preserves, researches and exhibits 21st-century art from Africa and its diaspora; hosts international exhibitions; develops supporting educational and enrichment programmes; encourages intercultural understanding, and guarantees access for all.
