Born in 1987 in Nanyuki town- Kenya, Boniface Maina lives and works in Nairobi.
Maina’s practice, since 2009, has been experimental with different mediums and materials, causing his work to evolve over the years in strive to capture human tendencies through questioning. His work is social-political and figurative inspired by daily interactions to bring out thought- provoking conversations. The figures and forms in his work are distorted; sometimes exaggerated to marry the mood that the work exudes.
In recent years, his work has been featured in magazines, art books and news articles locally and internationally.
He has facilitated and participated in workshops and his work exhibited in Kenya and abroad. He is in both private and public art collections.
